Many drivers dream of assuming the role of a hero one day and one man in Albuquerque recently turned this into reality. We’re talking about a car wash owner in in Albuquerque whiteness a man shooting a police officer and running away in his police cruiser. The owner of the car wash jumped aboard his Corvette and started chasing Christopher Chase, the gunner, as KKOB Channel 4 reports.
It seems that Chase had asked a customer of the car wash to call 911, saying that he was armed and waiting to face the law enforcers. As the officers arrived, Chase started shooting at them.
Among other injuries caused, he hit officer Matthew Hannum in the leg and drove away in his cruiser. The car wash owner got in his 2003 C5 Chevrolet Corvette and started following the perpetrator.
DUring this time, he was on the phone with the emergency services, indicating the location of the gunman. He ignored the operator’s call to stop following Chase though.
The whole thing escalated, as Chase stopped in the middle of a junction and fired at a police car coming his way. The shooter than sped things up, with the chase reportedly getting past 100 mph (160 km/h).
Despite being told by the 911 operators that he was braking the law, the ‘Vette driver kept following Chase. He communicated his position to the authorities, so the police finally took over.
