Corvette C6 Z06 Engine Catches Fire

The adjacent video brings us an unfortunate event that took place during a Corvette photo shoot. Youtube member CarSpotterQVS went to the Dutch city of Baarn to shoot a ‘Vette in an industrial area, when disaster struck.
The session went well, but when the owner wanted to start the car in order to return home, this refused to do so, as the battery was empty. Another car and a set of starting cables came along to help: the wires were connected and the owner managed to start up the V8, but the engine instantly caught fire.

We’re not sure why, but from what we can see in the video, the owner didn’t have a fire extinguisher, so they had to wait for the fire fighters to arrive. The engine bay suffered serious damage, but fortunately, the vehicle will now receive the care it deserves.
