According to kpho.com, San Diego officers were led on a crazy chase by some narcotics suspects who were throwing money out of their truck on Thursday, last week. Initially the chase started on southbound State Route 15 but it took the officers on a circuitous route over various streets and freeways. They eventually arrived on Interstate 5.
The suspects were throwing cash out of their truck's windows making passer-bys to come onto the roadway to take the money.
The chase ended in the middle of I-5 near State Route 56 when the driver eventually stopped. Almost needless to say, the suspects were immediately arrested.
After the chase, cops came back on the route trying to collect the money. So far it is not known how many people were in the truck and why they did this. We can only assume that the narcotics suspects just wanted to have some fun and didn't figure out another adventure.
Speaking about spectacular chases, at the beginning of last month, a Bentley driver led the cops on a slow-speed chase on Los Angeles freeways. The man later identified as Mustafa Mustafa, a businessman of Pakistani origin who apparently lost his business, was chased by cops for an alleged armed assault on his girlfriend.
Although Mustafa never exceeded 40 mph, he managed to lead the cops in a three-hours slow-speed pursuit southbound on the Hollywood Freeway, to southbound Interstate 5, back to the Hollywood Freeway then southbound on Interstate 405. After three hours of chase, he stopped his car and then, shot himself in the head.
