When a guy like Rutledge Wood takes on the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge, you expect things to go further than a recipient of ice-cold water poured over somebody. Well, the racing analyst, or Top Gear USA presenter, for those who prefer to look at him in this light, lived up to the expectations, coming up with the coolest interpretation of the challenger we’ve seen so far.
This involves a Scion xB pulling a set or truly smokey burnouts and donuts on the Atlanta Motor Speedway - you can see this as a little warm-up for the Labor Day race. At this point some of you are going to point out that the Scion xB’s front-wheel drive can qualify it for sliding at best, but not donuts.
We forgot to mention that this is no ordinary xB. The boxy creature is motivated by the infamous 2JZ engine, supported by a ton of other mods. It’s enough to listen the the soundtrack of the clip below and you’ll understand how deep the customization of this car went.
We have to remind you that this is far from being the only mix between the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge and Toyota. In fact, the company’s president, Akyo Toyoda, recently took on the challenge.
In case you need further clarification on the matter, ALS stands for Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, a progressive neurodegenerative disease affecting nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord. Those affected are paralysed and eventually killed.
