Continental announces the new generation of their Trail Attack tires, whose name receives an additional 2, just like we see things happening quite a lot in this segment. However, with no fancy name and with just a figure 2 added as a suffix, these new "bike shoes" have improved a lot, Continental says.
The Continental Trail Attack 2 come with a new compound which will break in a lot faster and easier than others, and this means the rubber reaches optimal grip much faster after new tires are installed. The new mold coating technology eliminates the need for release agents, hence providing optimal grip in less distance.
The rear tire comes with a 0°-steel-belt construction which brings in comfort and stability at high speed and high loads, while the front one received a reinforced carcass and revised tread for optimized wear.
According to Continental, the new compound is also offering better grip in wet conditions and longer mileage. The Black Chili Compound as they call it, will also warm up quicker, offer short braking distance and excellent grip.
For sizes please see the chart after the jump. It appears like the new BMW R1200GS and KTM 1190 Adventure will also have them as original equipment, so if you plan to stray off the asphalt, these new tires may not be the best option.
