"Continental's truck tire customers recognize the need for long-lasting equipment, especially in today's market conditions when long original miles factor in choosing a tire that will perform to their standards. With the new HDL2 DL, we're now offering them a full inch of tread depth that gives them maximum mileage for their long-haul applications," Armstrong said.
Continental says the HDL2 DL is already available through the company's authorized dealership network and is being offered in multiple sizes, as it follows: 11R22.5, 275/80R22.5, 11R24.5 and 285/75R24.5.
Aside from this report, Continental is one of the first companies that struggle to expand during so difficult recession times as it recently announced the opening of a new Chinese tech center to focus on vehicle application development. The engineering activities concern brake systems, hydraulic brake systems, engine management and system control.
"Maximum driving safety is our core business and our aim is to ensure that in the future there are no more traffic fatalities or severe injuries. Vision Zero represents a new dimension in driving safety. This new Tech Center is the R&D application base for ABS and ESC systems for the emerging markets in Asia," Dietmar Siemssen, Continental Chassis & Safety said in a release.
