Consumer Reports Praises 2017 Acura NSX for Comfort

People who listen to what Consumer Reports has to say have their own power washer and miter saw. When it comes to cars, they value ride comfort and technology at an affordable price. If you squint hard, it looks like that's precisely what the 2017 Acura NSX offers.

So naturally, while most auto reviews have been Debbie Downers about Acura's first Made in America supercar, Consumer Reports is a lot less critical.

About the only negative aspect they mention is the fact that it's hard to get into. But that applies to nearly every supercar, so people won't consider it an actual flaw.

About half the review is a presentation of the features and powertrain, which doesn't leave much time for testing of the handling. Most people have said that the NSX is not violent and edgy enough to compete with other supercars. The exhaust doesn't make a very pleasant nose, you can't do a burnout or drift like in the Ferrari 488 GTB.

Chris Harris
certainly won't fall in love with this car, but he might appreciate its engineering. The Sport Hybrid powertrain gives lots of electric power to the front wheels, making handling predictable and safe. It's the supercar that doesn't want to kill you.

Consumer Reports finds the adjustable suspension setup to their liking. The NSX irons out the bumps, but it's not like there aren't other supercars that don't destroy your spine. At the end of the day, a car like this should only be enjoyed on special occasions.

As Jason Cammisa once said, a GT is what you get into to drive across the country. A supercar is something so uncomfortable that you don't even want to go to the grocery store. But then you get in, and you accidently drive across the country. So isn't the NSX just a hybrid GT that's shaped to look like an exotic?
