2017 was a difficult year for Ferraristi, since the first days of January brought us a contraption that seems prepared to infuriate purists. We're talking about the V12-animated Ferrari 458 we showed you when the weather was rather unfriendly and we are now back on the topic to confirm the existence of the machine.
There were plenty of aficionados who expected the photo of the Franken-Horse to be fake, but gregb.23, the supercar collector behind the tale has now delivered another photo of the contraption, along with an explanation.

While we initially expected this to be a 458 with an F12 engine swap, it seems like we're dealing with a different story. The said aficionado posted the new pic on his Instagram account (this is far from the first time when we follow his Instadventures), while providing the all-important background on the Ferrarichat forum.

"LaFerrari prototype used to develop the engine. No hybrid system. Drives like a 'normal car'. Not possible to register for road use and track only for the first 24 months," the gear head explained.

Of course, we are now wondering whether the man is documenting the story of the car of if he as acquired it and plans on hooning the four-wheeled creature on the circuit.

Keep in mind that we're talking about an aficionado who owns multiple go-fast machines from multiple marques. His life behind the wheel is not all fun and games though, as the driver sometimes faces important dilemmas.

For instance, the collector recently sought help from his Instagram followers, aiming to find a nickname for the Pagani Zonda HP Barchetta he had recently ordered. And with the San Cesario sul Panaro automaker only bringing three examples of the HP Barchetta to the world, there were plenty of replies. In fact, you can check out the spec of the car here and perhaps help with a name.

Thoughts on the #Ferrari #458 with the #LaFerrari #V12 ?!
