Confirmed: 2010 Mazda3 MPS Comes in New York

The 2009 New York International Auto Show that will be held from April 10 to April 19 will witness the introduction of three Mazda 2010 model year vehicles, the company confirmed in a press statement issued today. The heavily revised 2010 CX-9, the CX-7 crossover SUV plus the over-discussed Mazdaspeed3 5-door compact will officially debut at the upcoming auto show.

Just like we told you some time ago, the 2010 CX-9 will incorporate both exterior and interior upgrades, with new options and reinforced safety features. In addition, the 2010 Mazdaspeed3, often described as one of the quickest and fastest front-wheel drive cars in the world, as the Japanese manufacturer explained, will come in production version at the show. The model was first unveiled at the 2009 Geneva Motor Show.

Last but not least, the 2010 CX-7 has been upgraded with lots of exterior, interior, safety and engineering modifications. The best example is straight the new naturally-aspirated DOHC 16-valve 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine mated to a five-speed automatic transmission. The turbocharged 244-hp DOHC 16-valve MZR Direct Injection Spark Ignition (DISI) 2.3-liter four-cylinder will still be offered, according to Mazda. The CX-7 was launched for the first time at the Canadian International Auto Show this year.

Beside these three models, Mazda will also display some other vehicles, including Mazda6, Mazda5, RX-8 and 2010 Mazda3.

The 2009 New York International Auto Show will run from April 10 to April 19, with two press preview days on April 8 and April 9.
