Confirmation from Germany - EVs Work Well for Pizza Delivery

Joey’s Pizza, from Germany, have been testing a few EVs as delivery vehicles, for the last 20 months. Now, they are drawing conclusions on whether or not the effort of paying extra for an electric vehicle is really worth it. Well, after having tested three different electric scooters and three different EVs, including one Renault Twizy, they have come to the conclusion that these vehicles genuinely make financial sense when used for delivery roles.

However, they seem to prefer scooters which are extremely efficient, non-pollutant and quiet, while also featuring replaceable battery packs. Also, their very high acquisition cost is easily offset by its advantages, one of which being the very reasonable running costs, which are barely noticeable, even when compared to a relatively-efficient gasoline-powered scooter.

We have always agreed with the use of EVs as delivery vehicles for in-city usage, and we will continue to support that claim. Now, we have Joey’s Pizza to back our claim with some real-world experience and facts. We hope to see more EVs used for deliveries, and our cities will be much cleaner and quieter without all those noisy two-stroke scooters leaving a trail of smoke everywhere.
