Configure Your Own McLaren 600LT Using New Tool with Millions of Combinations

Ordering a car the likes of the McLaren 600LT is an art in itself. With virtually countless possible colors and materials combinations, having one designed to each of the customers’ preferences usually required the car manufacturer stepping in and providing assistance.

As of this week, buyers who reserved their own 600LT can now use McLaren’s new real-time configurator located at the company’s retailers to tweak their new ride into submission before completing their order.

Just like the online version, this on-site the configurator allows customers to see the car in any of the 28 different body colors, including the three new ones introduced especially for the 600LT. Six themes are available for the interior, as are countless option packages that bring the total of possible combinations to several million, says McLaren.

“This is a great way to explore the specification of a car like the 600LT before finalizing your choices,” said in a statement McLaren’s chief test driver Kenny Brack.

“You can see on screen what each paint color looks like in isolation, choose your wheel design and finish and then contrast the exterior look with any of the interior specifications that appeal, before adding optional features and equipment.”

What customers will not be able to do with the new tool is changing the powerplant hidden under the hood. And why should they?

The 600LT comes packing a twin-turbo 3.8-liter V8 that develops 600 ps. Regardless of what one chooses for color, the engine will drive the car forward from a standstill to 60 mph in a heart-stopping 2.8 seconds.

The entry-level supercar introduced by McLaren at the Goodwood Speed Festival in 2018 comes on the heels of other Longtails, like the F1 GTR and 675LT. The LT designation translates into increased power, reduced weight, optimized aerodynamics, and track-focused dynamics.
