Complete MINI Clubman Range Revealed, Engines Go as Low as 102 HP

The MINI Clubman was officially revealed a while ago, but back then, we didn’t have the complete list of models in the range. Only today did the British carmaker announce how wide the choice of powerplants will be. Well, the time has come to tell you that almost every Hardtop version is mirrored by a Clubman.

The only choice that is missing at the moment is a John Cooper Works alternative but judging by our spyshots, one of those is coming too. While we’re waiting for the most powerful engine in the brand’s history to show up on the Clubman, let’s see how the rest of the range looks like.

The cheapest and least powerful version will be the One powered by a 1.2-liter 3-cylinder turbocharged mill making 102 HP and 180 Nm (133 lb-ft) on petrol. At the same time, the diesel alternative will be the One D powered by a 1.5-liter 3-cylinder mill making 116 HP and 270 Nm (199 lb-ft) of torque.

Considering how big the car seemed when we first made contact with it and how much it weighs (around 1.3 tons) we definitely wouldn’t recommend any of these mills for yourself.

The one we’d go for would be the Cooper SD, the most powerful diesel MINI ever made, fitted with a 2-liter 4-cylinder turbocharged mill producing 190 HP and 400 Nm (295 lb-ft) of torque. Thanks to those numbers, the fuel consumption is also reportedly very low, at around 4.5 l/100 km (52.2 mpg).

The other diesel Clubman left to talk about is the Cooper D that has 150 HP to play around with and 320 Nm (236 lb-ft) of torque. This version should also be quite potent to take you and your family out for a picnic.

The Cooper S, of course, remains on the table, with its 192 HP and 280 Nm (207 lb-ft) of torque but we have a feeling going for this petrol-powered version won’t do too well for the fuel consumption. The Clubman will be making its world debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show 2015 tomorrow.
