The GS Trophy USA 2013 is basically the local qualifying stage for the international event which will take place next year. Unlike in the international race, riders must bring their own bikes at the the US Challenge. There is a $200 (€) entry fee and the acceptance of personal and bike risk.
This event is dedicated to amateur riders so professional ones will have their registration canceled. That's why riders can bring any BMW GS machine, except the G450X.
BMW GS Trophy USA 2013 will be held at the BMW Performance Center in Greer, South Carolina from September 20-22, 2013. According to BMW, "finalists will then enter an online competition generating more social media content to determine the US team which will participate at the international event."
