Crackle, an online distributor of all things entertainment, confirmed that season 8 of Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee returns on June 16, 2016. As it was the case with season 7, you’re in for six episodes of comedians, cars, and savory coffee.
Crackle recently announced that its June programming includes another slate of Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee. The guests confirmed for season 8 are Margaret Cho (comedian, actress, and humanitarian activist), Lorne Michaels (the man behind Saturday Night Live, Late Night, and The Tonight Show), Jim Gaffigan (comedian and actor), John Oliver (Last Week Tonight host), JB Smoove (actor), and Judd Apatow (writer-producer). Great lineup, if you ask me.
Not much is known about the cars that will appear in Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee season 8, but Justin Westbrook of Jalopnik mentions something about a candy apple green Volkswagen Type 2 bus. I sure look forward to seeing some American muscle this season or at least a ridiculously awful Cadillac Cimarron.
Other than Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee, Crackle will release an original horror movie on June 20. Dubbed Dead Rising: Endgame, the zombie-laden movie is a sequel to Dead Rising: Watchtower. Because it is based on a video game developed by Capcom and the first installment was a little bit so-and-so, don’t expect too much depth from the second movie in the Dead Rising saga.
If you were wondering what Jerry Seinfeld has been doing lately outside of his efforts with Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee, the 62-year-old comedian told Access Hollywood that he has never watched an episode of Seinfeld since the sitcom came to an end in 1998.
“I think when you have a very intense, intimate experience with something and you get through it, you can’t, you just can’t,” said Jerry. “It’s like your high school yearbook. Do you open it up and go, ‘Oh look at me, there I am again?’ No, you don’t care. Who cares?” Well, your fans care, the undersigned included.
