There were many cars brought back to life over the years, and one of those we wish didn't fail miserably is the Thunderbird. Ford’s return to the origins of an otherwise iconic car family was put on the market in 2002 and taken off it three years later because, well, it sucked, and people didn’t buy it.
Of course, we would have liked for it not to suck and be entirely different than it was. Then again, the shoes of the original T-Bird were pretty hard to fill: the moniker came to be in 1955 as a luxury machine that turned out so successful it was kept on the production lines until 1997. During that time, ten generations came and went, and each had a design that was, at times, very distinct from the previous one.

The third generation, to which this 1962 Thunderbird belongs, was introduced in 1961 and visually set itself apart the most through the shape of its body. Drawn something like a bullet, it earned the model the nickname Bullet Bird and is to this day a sight like no other.

Plenty of these cars are still around, but as it usually happens with models this old, many of them got changed over the years by owners, sometimes with not the most exciting results. This one, however, with the exception of a repaint not long ago and tasteful interior tweaks, keeps true to its former self.

Casually wearing a color called Colonial White and offsetting that with an incredibly red interior, the car is powered by the single powerplant offered for the model back then, a 390-ci (6.4-liter). It churns out 300 hp, handled by means of a 3-speed automatic transmission.

Like many of its kind, the Thunderbird is for sale. This one goes for $19,900, and it’s sure to make you the star of your neighborhood.
