Going to college can be quite expensive and leaves many young people with thousands of dollars in debt. While working between classes won’t help you get a $50,000 car anytime soon, entering an online contest might provide better chances at hitting the jackpot.
It happened to Adam Bergin of Rockledge, a 22-year-old student that entered Amazon’s “Need for Speed Car Giveaway” sweepstakes and won a 2014 Shelby GT500 with just a click of a mouse. And a stoke of luck. He had to pay about $1,200 in fees, but that’s just small change compared to the pony’s $61,060 MSRP and sales tax, which was covered by Amazon.
Bergin came to pick up his new Shelby at Paradise Ford in Cocoa in a 1998 Pontiac Bonneville with a broken driver side window. A sedan he won’t be driving anymore after discovering that the GT500 “feels like a rocket ship”.
