This year BMW celebrated the M5’s 30th anniversary with a special model and the world remembered about the car that introduced the notion of a ‘sport sedan’ in the auto industry. Next Saturday, the guys from Classic Car Auctions will have seven M5s from different eras going under the hammer.
The event will take place at the Warwickshire Exhibition Center on June 6, and we will see some rather pristine models in the limelight. One of the cars going up for sale is a limited-edition BMW 25th Anniversary E60 M5.

Number 7 of the 25 ever made, it has 29,000 miles (46,690 km) on the clock and is expected to bring in anything between £25,000 and £28,000 (€35,000 to €39,000 or $38,000 to $43,000 at the current exchange rates).

Then there’s a 1987 BMW E28 M5 that will be the oldest one in the line-up. It has 176,000 miles (283,360 km) on the clock and was featured in EVO magazine back in 2013. The writer of that article described it as ‘an iconic slice of history’.

My personal choice would be the 2000 BMW E39 M5, a car finished in Imola Red that comes with a 4.9-liter V8 that makes a glorious sound. There’s also no reserve on this model that has been recently restored, and it seems like it will be gone for a more than decent price.

If you want to partake in this auction, all you have to do is fill out an online form for CCA. If you can’t attend the event in person, you can bid online, over the phone or by placing a commission ahead of the sale.
