Colin McRae’s Subaru Legacy RS at the Goodwood Festival of Speed

This year's Goodwood Festival of Speed promises to be a truly extraordinary one, as several world-class rally drivers (active or non-active) have already announced their presence to the 3-day event. And it's not just the drivers that will come to compete in the gravely Forest Rally Stage, but also the machines that will be on display for the die-hard racing fans that will come to Goodwood.

To start with the rally drivers, Ken Block will compete in the event on board of his WRC-prepared Ford Focus RS, but he also prepared a little surprise for his fans in England: the 600bhp Ford Fiesta he will use in his latest Gymkhana video was already shipped for the British island and will make it to Goodwood for this weekend's majestic display.

Additionally, Estonian rally driver Markko Martin will take the stage at the wheel of his MG S2000 car, while the pièce de résistance will undoubtedly be represented by Colin McRae’s Subaru Legacy RS, to be driven by his father Jimmy – 5-time winner British champion, by the way.

In addition, the rally car that made all Italian fans proud throughout the late '80 and early '90s, the Lancia Delta Integrale will be driven through the forest stage by none other than double world champion Miki Biasion. The 1965 RAC Rally-winning Mini Cooper S will also greet its fans with Rauno Aaltonen on board, while Bjorn Waldegaard will try out several Toyota models throughout the event.

Another important aspect of this weekend's Godwood Festival of Speed will be provided by the Richard Burns Foundation, which will open its stand as of tomorrow morning. There, the fans will be offered a memorabilia from Richard’s world championship-winning career, including his overalls and boots, and “some hand-written notes from Burns and some of his early technical drawings from his school days,” as reported by the WRC official website.
