Colin Edwards, nicknamed the Texas Tornado, may have hanged his MotoGP racing leathers for good but he's nowhere near through with bikes. In fact, knowing that his retirement time will come, Edwards set up his own "riding academy" called the Texas Tornado Boot Camp.
Located some 40 miles (64 km) north of Houston, TX, the Texas Tornado Boot Camp is a state-of-the-art enterprise, a "one stop shop for all ages and skill levels to learn, practice and build your motorcycle skills in a fun atmosphere with top of the line equipment at the finest facility around," as Edwards himself describes it.

The Texas Tornado Boot Camp is drawing near to its sixth anniversary, and all this time, many big names in all bike racing scenes braaped around it. Valentino Rossi is undoubtedly the biggest of them all, with Edwards and the Doctor also being good friends. Of course, Rossi also has his own Moto Ranch in his hometown of Tavullia in Italy, another place where the top riders often meet.

No less than six events are scheduled for 2016

At least six big events are scheduled already for 2016, and they will be complemented by visits from the big names, most of them kept secret for the sake of privacy.

The Texas Tornado Boot Camp is open to riders of all ages and skills. From kids who learn the riding basics to top riders, everyone is welcome to the Camp and has something to gain from this.

Kids have a special place in Colin Edwards’ heart, as he is also hosting all-kids events, such as the KTM Cup Kids Boot Camp. Still, fellows like British Superbike Championship rider James Ellison are also part of the Camp regularly.

"I have been to Racer Camp for the last three years, and I have scored six podiums in the first six races in British Superbike, including three wins. Coincidence? I think not.

"Truth is, when you spend a week with Colin Edwards and his group of experienced tutors, you quickly learn that you really don't know everything there is to know about racing. Every day is a school day. Racer Camp is the perfect opportunity to get race fit and fired up for the start of the season
," he adds.
