A while back BMW introduced the so-called Clutch Delay Valve on most of its cars. This system limits the flow of hydraulic fluid to the clutch, in order to minimize the wear of the components.
That's all good, on our account, since it's supposed to help you avoid those nasty trips to the service and keep you car running for many miles without issues. However, the CDV will sometimes cause your car to feel sluggish and unpredictable at times.
In order to address this problem, you can simply remove the CDV using an easy DIY that will take about 20 minutes of your time. However, the same DIY could prove useful in case something happens to it and you'll have to replace it.
Tools needed: 8mm socket, a small flat blade screw driver, a 10mm wrench, and possibly a little bit of hydraulic brake fluid.
