Never in the history of Mercedes-Benz or AMG has a close-to-600 hp car been so easy to drive as their latest all-wheel drive 4Matic models.
Sporting a fixed 33 percent to the front and 67 percent to the rear power distribution, the S-Model versions of both the E 63 AMG and the CLS 63 AMG feature no less than 585 hp (577 bhp) and 800 Nm (590 lb ft) of torque to play with.
In acceleration numbers, the specs above translate into a 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) time of just 3.6 seconds, or even less if you are only counting to 60 mph.
Sadly, left-hand drive countries only get the rear-wheel drive versions of these monsters for the time being, but the following reviewer doesn't really care about that.
The following video isn't exactly the most action-pumped review we have seen of Motor Trend's Carlos Lago, but it does show us enough to put the CLS 63 AMG S-Model on a small pedestal. Too bad that the leitmotif behind the footage is only to find out if the model deserves the extra cash it costs on top of an E 63 AMG S-Model.
