The date stamp on the video says it took place a couple of days ago, while the Daily Mail notes it was shot in AMJ Rembia, Melaka, in Malaysia. It was captured on the dashcam of a vehicle that wasn’t involved in the two-vehicle accident, so it offers the ideal vantage point.

One of the motorcyclists that overtakes the car with the dashcam is forced to brake suddenly after the car in front did the same. However, for all the braking he did, the biker couldn’t avoid the impact, so he smashed into the rear of the vehicle.

That alone would have been bad enough, but this biker was clearly not having a very good day. The impact threw him into the next lane, sans bike, into the oncoming traffic. To his luck, the next speeding car that came missed him by inches.

You can see the biker get up from the ground, trying to shake off the confusion so as to move away from traffic as soon as he can. He’s limping and he seems to have some trouble getting back on his bike and starting it, but he’s able to do both once he receives some help from someone who’d witnessed the crash.

The Mail says the biker eventually rode away and that he “survived with minor injuries.” The driver that nearly ran him over didn’t even stop to check if he was ok, so there’s that for human compassion.

“The dashcam footage was later released by the traffic department to warn other drivers about the consequences of speeding,” the British publication also says.
