Clio 4 RS 200 EDC Challenged by Predecessors

If you're not a Clio RS fan, you probably thought that was gibberish or encrypted code in the title, but it's really not. That's just the way Renault names its cars, and to any hardcore fan, it's cristal-clear he's in for an awesome video compilation.

The 197 is of course the first version of the Clio 3 RS. It came out in 2005 if we remember correctly and packed exactly 197 PS from its 2-liter engine. Fans criticized it for being too heavy, but on the track it proved to be the better car in its class.

Then came the 200 model, a facelift which we tested. It came with revised engine management that made it more usable. Revisions to the steering setup also improved feel, which is one of the reasons the community still views this as the car to have.

But earlier this year, the new Clio 4 RS went on sale. This game-change is now only available as a five-door. It's also auto-only, which fans are complaining about, but as you can see from the video, the pace given by the new turbo engine and double-clutch with launch control is unbeatable.

Mihnea's favorite cars have already been built, the so-called modern classics from the '80s and '90s. He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
