Cleaning The Throttle Body on a Lexus LS 400

Usually located between the air filter and the intake manifold, the throttle body is a very important engine component, as it controls the amount of air flowing into the engine in response to the accelerator pedal input.
Knowing this, you can tell that dirt or any carbon deposits inside the throttle body will make it less responsive, resulting in loss of performance. Using an oil-based foam performance air filter will too make it operate sluggish, as the oil can get into its components.

It’s a job everyone can do in their own garage, without needing special equipment or professional help. All you need are some screwdrivers, a socket wrench, something to scrape carbon deposits, throttle body cleaner and some towels. Also, it is recommended to replace the throttle body’s gasket with a new one after cleaning all the bits and pieces.

Now that you got all you need, you can proceed to roll up your sleeves, read the tutorial on LexLS and start the cleanup.
