There used to be a time when Land Rover only made rugged off-roaders for the gentleman who wanted to go off the beaten track, but now we have the Evoque, and the brand image has changed beyond all recognition.

However, we have to ask ourselves what would happen if you mixed the muscular body of an out-doorsman and a party tuxedo. Well, with a little help from tuning specialists Vilner, the rugged looks of the venerable Land Rover Defender have cleaned up nicely. It’s almost as if this is a ripped combat expert that’s taking things slow on a date.

Thanks to a lot of cow hide and miles upon miles of stitching, the Defender is now packed full of luxury and class that it never had but wanted all along.

The Bulgarian customization specialists were reportedly approached by a "Russian oligarch" (a mogul of sorts), who wanted unique short- and long-wheelbase Land Rover Defenders.

Vilner then set about fitting the cabins of the vehicle with as much luxury as they could think of. There’s more nappa leather and Alcantara here than in the whole Sema show, but it’s all done with taste and posh class. The brown-black color combination is take to the dashboard, the seats, the gages and even the spare wheel.

A new entertainment system features a 600W audio receiver and a 15-inch LCD screen hooked up to a DVD player.

This is the only car we can think of where you can see the headliner from the outside, as the Defender’s roof is so high.

This is the perfect set of wheels to drive to the end of the earth, have some champaign... watch a movie and be back for a spot of golf before lunch.
