Classic Restored Jeep Collection Heading to SEMA

There are three reasons to fight the crowds in order to attend SEMA each year: a love of aftermarket parts, a love of customized cars or a love of classic cars. If you’re in the latter camp and will be at the 2014 SEMA Show, then you’re definitely going to want to seek out Omix-ADA at the Las Vegas Convention Center in November.

As a manufacturer of off-road parts, Omix-ADA seems to have a little extra enthusiasm toward Jeeps as it boasts a collection of more than 30 Jeeps that span Jeep’s history. It will be bringing seven of the vehicles from this collection to SEMA including some truly rare and historic Jeep models.

Among these special Jeep models that will be at SEMA include a 1-of-100 1971 Hurst Jeepster Commando, a 1960 Surrey DJ-3A and the gorgeous 1967 Jeep CJ-6 seen above. If you’ve never heard of a CJ-6, it was a long-wheelbase version of the smaller CJ-5. This Jeep was essentially the predecessor to the CJ-8 Scrambler and the current Jeep Wrangler JK Unlimited. This particular CJ-6 is unrestored with just 14,000 miles on the odometer and a well-documented history.

In addition to these classic Jeeps, Omix-ADA will also have two customized JK Wranglers on hand. One will be given away in a contest to SEMA attendees, and the other will be donated to help raise money for SEMA Cares.

Our motivation behind starting the Jeep Collection was to preserve Jeep heritage. Our growing collection of Jeeps is representative of our company as a whole and the products we manufacture for everything from the 1941 models to the current JK. These seven are just a small sampling of the vehicles being preserved by Omix-ADA,” said Henk Van Dongen, director of marketing at Omix-ADA.

The 2014 SEMA Show runs from November 4-7.
