When talking about city cars, one name always pops in one's mind immediately: the Classic Mini. So, it shouldn't surprise you when you'll find out that this was the car used for breaking the World Record for the tightest parallel parking, twice!
In a daring attempt, brothers Alistair and John Moffatt took their Classic Mini for a spin and gave it a shot. The aim was to break the previous World Record, set by Ronny Wechselberger in 2012. He used a Volkswagen Up for his world record and managed to park in a space that was only 14 cm (5.51 in.) longer than his car.
After a couple of failed attempts from Alistair, it was time for the younger brother to give it a try. The first 2 attempts didn't go so well but, knowing it was now or never, John went for a third one, which proved to be successful.
The new parallel parking Guinness World Record is now 13.1 cm (5.15 inches). Congratulations are in order for the brilliant drivers but also for the car, which proved to be the best possible choice.
