When it comes to MINIs, the crazier the better. That’s the philosophy behind their products lately and it seems to be working too. The Not Normal campaign was received with enthusiasm and even the cars themselves have a special touch that makes them … unique on the market.

However, older Minis seem to be going into a cone of shadow lately, especially in this ‘crazy’ regard. Luckily for us, there are still plenty of people out there that think the original is better than the current models and they are keeping things interesting.

It’s the case of this Innocenti Mini Export Cooper 1300, a car that was built under license in Italy some decades ago. However, this is not your stock Mini, mind you. Oh no, the Italians, being Latin and all that, know how to make things… interesting.

Therefore, the shop that has this car at the moment restored it and made it stand out thanks to a couple of well though add-ons. Amongst them you’ll notice the strips on the outside that were painted by hand and give this little Cooper a unique character.

If that’s not enough, the interior was completely reworked (seats, steering wheel, door panels, roof lining) and everything in there is now wearing leather and custom colors.

Mechanically, the car was taken care of as well, the 1,275 cm3 engine being good for around 71 HP and a top speed of 100 mph (160 km/h) thanks to a 4-speed gearbox.

There’s a price to pay though and it’s pretty steep at €36,530 ($40,900 at today’s exchange rates). However, this doesn’t appeal to your daily driver routine but more to those collectors out there… And for them it’s not a huge price to pay.
