The 2013 Shanghai Auto Show hosted several world debuts for cars such as the BMW X4 concept, the Mercedes-Benz GLA concept or the 2014 Maserati Ghibli. Also, an important batch of Asian premiers took place as well, with the highlights including the LaFerrari or the 2014 Jeep Cherokee.
However, among present day and future models, Asia’s most important automotive event also featured a few classic vehicles. Mostly lost through tens of modern cars from all over the world, some iconic shapes from the past are to be spotted in Shanghai.

If any of you are planning to visit the Chinese event, be sure to stop by the Rolls-Royce stand to check one of their most prized classic, the 1913 Silver Ghost that was entered in the Austrian 1820-mile Alpine Trial. As we reported earlier this week, James Radley’s car was used as inspiration by Rolls-Royce when creating the special Ghost Alpine Trial Centenary Edition.

Moving on to the Aston Martin corner, classic car enthusiasts will be able to admire the DB... 5. Yup, what else? The car made famous by the James Bond series resides next to its nephews. The Jaguar stand promises to offer even more fun with no less than three cars. Besides the famed E-Type, the British-based company has brought two 24 Hours of Le Mans-winners to Shanghai: the short-nosed D-Type and a pistachio-painted C-Type.

The English aren’t the only manufacturers to show off their heritage in China, French automaker Citroen showed up with a 1974 DS model, a vehicle that changed automotive history thanks to its futuristic design and innovative technology. There may be other goodies we haven't spotted as well, so don’t be a stranger and give these old gals a proper hello.
