Clarkson-Driven Ford Sierra RS Cosworth Pops Up For Sale, Could Be Yours

The old Top Gear show had a lot of cars featured, especially in certain segments where the trio would buy special vehicles on a budget.

This time, we address another ex-Top Gear car, a 1989 Ford Sierra Sapphire RS Cosworth, which will be sold at auction. We are writing about a car that was driven by Jeremy Clarkson during one of Top Gear’s challenges, and that has received a score of 81 out of 135 points on its condition test.

The report shows everything is in good, running order, but the vehicle does show its age. Without a complete service history, professional storage, and pristine condition, this model cannot receive the maximum points of the Classic Car Auctions Condition report.

The car appeared on the Top Gear show in 2010, and this model was the first Ford to wear the Cosworth badge.

Unlike other cars that were featured on Top Gear challenges, this vehicle performed optimally, and now has 82,000 miles on the clock. Its MoT is issued until March 2017, and the car even has a box full of bills to certify some of its history.

Auction specialists estimate this particular example will sell for 13,000 to 16,000 British pounds. That is in the area of $18,400 and $22,700, according to a currency converter. When compared to other cars shown on Top Gear, this Ford Sierra Cosworth is actually a budget buy.

Depending on the number of interested buyers and their wallets, it could sell for even more money. However, do not expect its value to skyrocket over the years, even though this model is becoming rare these days.

Collectors will surely appreciate a car like this, but its less than perfect appearance and incomplete service history might not grab the most value possible for this vehicle. However, Top Gear enthusiasts might pay top dollar for the car, as it was chosen by Jeremy Clarkson himself to appear on the show, and was driven and praised by the TV star.
