With no less than 360 hp and 450 Nm (332 lb ft) of torque developed by the bonkers turbocharged four-cylinder under its hood, the Mercedes-Benz CLA 45 AMG is rather close to being called a modern-day sleeper - or Q-car, if you like.
In other words, there are few details on the sexy CLA that would divulge the fact that it can hit 100 km/h (62 mph) from a standing start in just 4.6 seconds, mostly thanks to the 4Matic all-wheel drive and the launch control function of its seven-speed dual-clutch transmission.

On the other hand, there are some people out there who think that those type of numbers are still a bit low, and thankfully there are also tuners like RENNtech who are more than happy to oblige when it comes to desiring more power from an AMG.

Even if we are only talking about a two-liter four-cylinder that has already been turbocharged to bits by a twin-scroll turbocharger, the M133 engine has quite a large amount of power reserve hidden in it, as RENNtech recently found out.

Using just a plug-and-play ECU tuning module that needs no other engine modification, they have managed to increase the output of the M133 to no less than 414 hp and 533 Nm (393 lb ft) of torque.

In layman's terms, these figures apparently translate into a naught to 100 km/h (62 mph) time of just four seconds flat when using the launch control system, while the 200 km/h (124 mph) mark comes after just 14.9 seconds.

The even more impressive bit comes after learning that the RENNtech tuning module allows the user to choose the performance level desired from a number of presets, simply changing the boost to give more power or more fuel economy.
