All you Mercedes-Benz fans out there will be trilled to find out that the CLA 45 AMG Racing Series have been officially revealed, a silver arrow for the 21st century. Now, racing enthusiasts can take a look at what the guys from the three-pointed star have to offer.
Ola Källenius, ex-chairman of the Board of Management of Mercedes-AMG GmbH stated that “The great success of our involvement with the SLS AMG GT3, which is now used by customer teams on five continents, means that we are very confident: in the popular four-cylinder segment too, we want to offer interested customer teams a competitive, near-series racing car with a high level of safety.”

In the same manner as the SLS AMG GTC, the CLA 45 AMG Racing Series was developed in collaboration with HWA, which stands for Hans Werner Aufrecht. In case you might not known, he is one of the two founders of AMG.

Furthermore, an interesting fact is that the technical specification of the model will vary. Therefore, things will differ from one car to another depending on the race rules and race series they will participate in, although the models are still based on the turbocharged 2-liter, four cylinder engine from the “traditional” CLA 45 AMG for road use. We’re pretty sure you know which one, the one that provides 360 horsepower and 450 Nm (322 lb ft.)

In the same way, the type of traction as well as the engine are variable. So, this means that the car is able to function as either a purely front-wheel drive model or an all-wheel drive.
