CLA 45 AMG Gets Reviewed by Edmund's

The AMG version of the highly successful Mercedes-Benz CLA is currently the cheapest way in which an American can drive an AMG model straight out of the showroom floor without stealing it.

With a price starting at $48,375, it is also one of the most affordable sports sedans coming from Germany on US shores, being in close proximity with the likes of the BMW 335i F30 and the Audi S4 B8 form this point of view.

Even though it is powered by a “puny” two-liter four-cylinder, the CLA 45 AMG is by no means a slow or even average car performance wise, as the four-pot is also supercharged into oblivion via a twin-scroll turbocharger.

With no less than 360 hp (355 bhp) and 450 Nm (332 lb ft) of torque on tap, sent to all four-wheels via a 4Matic all-wheel drive system and a dual-clutch transmission with seven forward gears, the sexiest member of the MFA platform can reach 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 4.6 seconds.

The folks at Edmund's got the chance to test drive a CLA 45 AMG both on the road and on the track, and their findings are mostly filled with praises, with the only downsides in their view being the rather limited comfort in everyday driving.
