Citroen’s LCV Sales Up 47 Percent in April in the UK

Citroen’s LCV sales recorded a 47.58 percent increase in April in the United Kingdom, enabling the French company to gain a 9 percent share of the market. Strong performance from Nemo, Berlingo, Dispatch and Relay models this spring saw Citroen’s April LCV sales reach a total of 1,340 units.

With Citroen’s year to date LCV sales up a massive 22.61 percent at 6,013, the company has virtually doubled the total LCV market’s year-to-date gain of 11.91 percent.

Citroen has enjoyed both a strong April and 2010 year-to-date sales performance, and has significantly out-performed a fast-rising market.  This success has been achieved thanks to an outstanding range of products, highly attractive customer offers and consistent results across all of our LCV models,” Charles Peugeot, head of Commercial Vehicles and Business Sector was quoted as saying in a press release.

In 2010, Citroen has made improvements to its vehicles to ensure the success of its environmentally-responsible LCV product range.  Building upon the strengths of the Citroen LCV range - low emissions, high fuel efficiency and low running costs - Citroen has introduced an on-going programme of attractive Citroen Contract Motoring contract hire finance options.

In addition, in 2010, to improve safety, productivity and to further lower running costs, Citroen has made Trafficmaster Smartnav satellite navigation and Trackstar stolen vehicle tracking standard on all Berlingo, Dispatch and Relay panel vans.  Citroen has also launched range-topping Nemo, Berlingo, Dispatch and Relay Enterprise vans with comfort, safety and communications enhancements.

The most successful model of Citroen’s LCV range is the compact Nemo, elected “Van of the Year 2009” at the Hannover Motor Show.
