Ahead of the car's official debut at the 2013 Shanghai Auto Show a bit later this month, Citroen has fully revealed the DS Wild Rubis concept. Right now, it's not something we can buy, but it does preview a future DS SUV, the first of its kind.
The existing range of DS models starts with the DS3, which is based on the C3, followed by the DS4 five-door, which is a dressed-up version of the C4 and the DS5, a sort of sexy MPV based on the Peugeot 3008 platform. By the look of it, the DS Wild Rubis shares its architecture with an existing SUV model, possibly the C4 Aircross.

The other major thing about the concept is that 's "driven by full-hybrid plug-in technology", which might explain why it looks like the Tesla Model S at the front.

The looks of any French car will always be the major selling point, and the ruby-red concept doesn't disappoint. It has jewel-like headlights with large chrome inserts, as well as very substantial 21-inch wheels.

The DS Wild Rubis is larger than it looks, measuring 4.7 meters in length, 1.95 meters in width and 1.59 meters in height. This makes it about the same size as a C-Cross or Peugeot 4007, but noticeably shorter to make it look more sporty. To be honest, we would have preferred them to make a smaller SUV, especially since their best selling vehicle is also the smallest.
