The DS2 will be a 5-door hatch based on the Peugeot 208. Yeah, we found it peculiar too but hey… they're French, what'd you expect. However, their plans to take away some of MINIs customers makes us laugh.

First of all, the MINI owners are really proud of their choice and pick their cars on the driving experience only for the most part, that go-kart feeling everyone talks about. Don't know about you but we never felt something like that in any other car, especially no French one.

Sure, they have the Megane RS but that's a completely different story and the DS3 is good but not as good as the MINI. According to AutoBild, the upcoming DS2 will be similar to the MINI only in customization options.

As far as the engines go, they will probably be fitting the DS2 with one of their traditional engines like the 90 HP 3-cylinder, 115 HP 4-cylinder diesel and 155 HP four-pot. Either way, the JCW rivals from MINI will leave them trailing in a cloud of dust.
