The latest “goddess” from Citroen has finally been launched in Australia, the DS5, which is a mid-size vehicle that combines features from both family wagons and crossovers in one attractive French-designed package.
It is 4,530 mm (178.3 in) long and 1,871 mm (73.7 in) wide, dimensions that make it the biggest DS model so far. The DS5 is actually not built on the C5 platform, as instead Citroen opted for the PF2 used by models like the 3008, which offers the possibility of installing AWD.
In Australia, the only version sold is the DS5 DSport, powered by a 1.6-liter THP with 155 hp (115 kW) and 240 Nm of torque. Despite the reasonable amount of power, the DS5 takes a leisurely 9.7 seconds to get to 100 km/h.
Prices start at AUD47,990, to which you can add options such as pearlescent white paint for AUD1000, black or alezan watchstrap leather upholstery for AUD2500 or a 10-speaker sound system for AUD1000.
