Nevertheless, the DS Inside concept gave us a hint into how the future models will look while but even so, uncertainty was still there. Mostly because Citroen prepares several cars to be included in the DS range.
The company recently revealed some new facts related to the upcoming models, autocar.co.uk revealed. Both the DS4 and the DS5 are expected to hit the market in 2011, two years after the DS3 which is prepared to make its first public appearance this year in Frankfurt.
The DS4 will be based on the C-Sportlounge coupe-come-MPV hybrid concept displayed in 2005 but will also use some design cues of the current C4 model. It could be used by Citroen to compete against Nissan Qashqai and Peugeot 3008.
The DS5 on the other hand will be a bit more aggressive and will come in the form of a crossover, but details are still sketchy. However, according to the aforementioned source, when talking about the DS5, Citroen pointed to the BMW X6, which makes us think that the DS5 might be some sort of coupe SUV but, again, this is only speculation. The car will be based on the Hypnos showcased at the 2008 Paris Motor Show but is likely to boast major changes as many of the features included in the concept car are unlikely to join the production model.
