Despite selling over 200,000 of their vehicles already, the guys at Citroen who are designing the DS range have never managed to impress us with something that has mass-market appeal besides the DS3.
When we saw the interior of the DS5 and heard that it was an SUV, we were overjoyed, but it’s not really that, is it?!

The French automaker is, however, seeing the posh market for what it is and is going to launch a number of more relevant cars. The first of these will be the DS3 Cabrio, which will use a similar setup to that of the Fiat 500 in that the pillars will be kept.

Next year, Citroen will reportedly introduce a car smaller than the DS3, which everybody expects to be named the DS2 and to borrow styling from the 2CV.

A production version of the Numero 9 is sure to follow if the business case is right, but we’re more interested in the DS SUV, rumored to be in the early stages of development. This will obviously be based on the C4 Aircross, which in turn is based on the Mitsubishi ASX or Outlander Sport.
