Their ambitions with the DS3 Racing are largely as a result of demand. The original plan was for Citroen to make some 1,000 cars, but they’ve more than double that figure. Since this was supposed to be a limited production car, they might launch a new cosmetic package that’s even more thought out.
As for the Metropolis, that was designed in China, and demand coming from the rapidly expanding market is for larger cars, so the saloon is a natural choice. Developed by Citroen's design office in Shanghai, the Metropolis concept car was seen and like by millions of potential customers as it was introduced at the Shanghai World Fair last year.
We’ll remind you that the concept makes use of a very interesting powertrain, which combines a 272 hp gasoline engine with an electric motor that provides an increase in output from 55 to 95 horsepower when needed. Citroen claims performance figures that equal those of a 4.0-liter V8 petrol engine with CO2 emissions of just 70 g/km.
