According to data, over 30 million Europeans are affected by motion sickness, with 1 in 3 people complaining of symptoms while traveling by car, bus or train.
Motion sickness can turn any fun trip into an ordeal, no matter the age of the person affected by it. Luckily, Citroen has come up with a cure for it, by releasing a new, innovative product that tricks the mind into re-synchronizing and rid you of all unpleasant symptoms associated with motion sickness.

The Seetroen glasses are now available for order through the company’s lifestyle boutique and will set you back €99.

They’re half-silly half-cool looking, being made of soft-touch white plastic and blue liquid in the rims that moves when you move the head. They’re glassless, so they can be worn by all family members; so think of it as an investment, as long as 2 members don’t become sick simultaneously.

Starting from the observation that motion sickness appears because of the difference in perception between the sense of balance and sight, Citroen teamed up with startup Traction to create the Seetroen glasses. They use the Boarding Ring technology, which boasts a 95 percent efficiency rate after just 10 minutes. The Boarding Ring technology is a patented medical device that consists of 4 rings filled with blue liquid.

In simpler terms, the glasses create an artificial horizon line in the front and sides, which allows the resynchronization of sight and inner-ear, and thus “cures” motion sickness. Put them on and look at a fixed object, such as tablet or phone or book, and you should be able to remove them after 10 minutes, your motion sickness symptoms all gone.

Citroen guarantees that you won’t look silly with the glasses on for longer than 10 minutes, and that you’ll be able to enjoy the rest of your ride.
