Citroen C5 Receives Carlsson Style Treatment

German tuning company Carlsson, specialized in Mercedes-Benz, has surprised the aftermarket community by announcing it will premiere a French model at the Auto Mobil International Auto Show in Leipzig. The car chosen for the upgrade is the family saloon and wagon Citroen C5, for which Carlsson proposes an exterior and interior styling package designed by the German company. The Carlsson Citroen C5 is actually developed by the company in collaboration with the French carmaker.

The C5 by Carlsson will be available in both sedan and wagon body styles, with a choice of one gasoline and two diesel engines, all in standard configuration, without any power upgrades. The gasoline engine is the turbocharged 1.6 liter unit developing 155 horsepower, while its diesel equivalent is the 2.0 liter Hdi producing 163 horsepower. Above these two units sits the 240 horsepower 3.0 liter V6 Hdi Biturbo engine. The customers will be able to choose between a manual and an automatic transmission.

The styling modifications include a new sporty front spoiler, side moldings and a rear skirt plus LED daytime running lights. The Carlsson C5 will ride on 19 inch rims and has been fitted with dual exhaust pipes. Carlsson has also taken care of the interior, where a new Alcantara-covered steering wheel replaced the standard choice and a new leather upholstery appeared. Other additions include aluminium-finished pedals, stainless-steel scuff plates and a high-tech navigation system called Business Package NaviDrive 3D.

Further photos and information are expected after the official launch of the Carlsson Citroen C5 at this month's Leipzig Auto Show (10-18 April 2010).
