As it was the case with the first-generation Citroen C1, the one from the present day is sharing most of its underpinnings with similarly sized Peugeot and Toyota models. Built in the Czech Republic, the 2015 Citroen C1 city car gets some light updates in terms of eye candy material and active safety technologies.
Weighing a little more than 805 kilograms (1,775 lbs), the C1 is an alternative to all the other chic models in the A-segment like the Fiat 500 and Smart ForTwo/ForFour. After approximately 66,000 units sold in less than a year since production started, the C1 receives a new color to stand out in the crowd.

Dubbed Blue Lagoon, the exterior finish is available for both the five and three-door versions of the Citroen C1. If you’re into two-tone color combos, you’ll be happy to find out that Blue Lagoon can be combined with glossy back for more of that visual drama some buyers are looking for. Some of the interior trim is also finished in modern Blue Lagoon hue.

On the safety front, Active City Brake is introduced as an optional extra. Thanks to a short-range laser sensor, the Citroen C1 can detect obstacles in front of the vehicle. If there’s no reaction from the driver, the system applies the brakes automatically at speeds of up to 30 km/h (18 mph). Then there’s a Lane Departure Warning system, an optional extra as well. This bit of kit needs absolutely no introduction.

Priced at €10,250 for the entry-level model, the 2015 Citroen C1 is available in tin-top or Airscape soft-top forms with a five-speed manual or an automated-manual. As for the engine list, all of the following powerplants comply to EU 6 standards: VTi 68 5MT, VTi 68 ETG, VTi 68 S&S 5MT, and PureTech 82 5MT.
