Citi Bank Executives Reportedly Drove Ferraris Through France Instead Of Working

Brexit, the potential EU exit of The United Kingdom, is a hot topic these days. In the case of lawmakers, multi-national corporation executives, and bankers, the situation is of utmost importance. However, not all managers are equally worried about the matter.

According to a report, a group of foreign exchange banking executives from Citi Bank preferred a road trip around France instead of preparing their scenarios for Brexit.

According to Business Insider, a group of top traders specialized in foreign exchange went on a weekend trip to France.

Foreign exchange is the thing you see in some pop-ups in your browser, where you can “bet” on the evolution of currency and stock, but it is supposedly done on a professional level in the banking business.

As banks have previously demonstrated with their subprime loans, the subsequent bailouts, and other actions that affected the entire planet, irresponsible people are present in all fields and levels of activity, including foreign exchange banking.

So far, nothing of importance for an automotive website, right? Wrong, because they made a road trip with sports cars, including some Ferrari models. While the report did not mention what kind of Ferraris were involved, this news caught our eyes.

Apparently, the group was formed by five executives, which took up to three days off to drive sports cars in France. The vacation they took, a road trip with Ferrari models and other sports cars, is reportedly a yearly get-together for the group.

Employees pointed them out to the media for the audacity of taking a vacation while the rest of the team focused on what to do in case Great Britain decides to leave the European Union through the Brexit referendum.

While we would love to take a yearly road trip to France for good measure and the joy of driving Ferraris, we cannot stress the importance of timing your vacation. We understand why the rest of the employees got upset at their superiors for taking this trip.

So, remember: no matter how much of a petrolhead you and your friends are, esteemed banking employee, consider the consequences of your actions before you embark on an otherwise fantastic road trip.
