Chrysler today announced that it has modified three models of the 2009 lineup in order to better suit the market demand as the majority of customers are now looking for better fuel efficiency instead of high power engines. In fact, these are the main attributes of the upgraded models, Chrysler said in a press statement, with Chrysler Sebring, Chrysler 300 and Dodge Avenger providing enhanced fuel economy plus a couple of new features, initially not included in these models.
Chrysler Sebring Sedan now features standard leather interior, heated seats, power front driver seat plus chrome and brushed trim accents. The engine is now a 3.5-liter V6 combined with a six-speed automatic transmission and a 18-inch wheels. The price of the new model is $25,630, including $740 destination as Chrysler mentioned.
The Chrysler 300 series was also modified, the Touring Edition now becoming the entry-level model. The upgraded 300 is powered by a 2.7-liter V6 engine while its exterior received a brand new front grille. The price of updated model remains at $27,415.
The Dodge Avenger lineup has received several upgrades, with the top R/T model now featuring a more efficient engine (2.4-liter I-4 with an average fuel consumption of 30 mpg) plus heated seats, standard leather interior and folding body color-painted side mirrors.
“We know from our dealers and customers that fuel efficiency and value are the two most important criteria in purchasing a new car in this challenging economy. Therefore, we simplified key vehicle lines to deliver more value in our products with improved interiors and exteriors, as well as improved fuel efficiency,” said Deborah Meyer, Vice President and CMO, Chrysler LLC.
