Chrysler Swaps to Sergio Marchionne's Steering Committee

The rising of Chrysler is still in progress and  it is not going at full speed as CEO of Fiat and Chrysler, Sergio Marchionne considers.Thus he plans to dispatch more responsibility to regional executives,except the time being in North America. As a result of rescheduling Marchionne will take wheel of North America.

With same CEO being on charge the top, executives in North America are not aware of who will be promoted. There are a couple viable candidates among which Chrysler’s Dan Knott and Fiat’s Gianni Coda. Marchionne’s new business structure is to be revealed on Tuesday, July 26. The significant changes are a consequence of Fiat’s acquiring the U.S. and Canadian governments’ combined share of 7.5%, turning this way the wheel in Fiat’s favor, making it the majority owner. Sergio Marchionne aims for a closer face to face collaboration between al executives.

In order to achieve this goal there have been made plans for a new global layer of management , called the steering committee. 25 executives from in and outside U.S. will be named in order to achieve a Global level of management. The concerned hotspot in the new steering committee at the moment is the global purchasing area. On the other hand Marchionne's lean toward naming Gianni Coda as regional boss of Europe raises the question whether Coda could handle the European job and also “steer” Fiat/Chrysler global purchasing.
