Detroit-based automaker Chrysler is recalling 421 model year 2013 Dodge Dart Mopar ’13 special-edition vehicles to fix seat-mounted side airbags that may not be working properly.
“The vehicles feature seating that is modified by an upfitter. Subsequent inspection revealed a restraint-system installation procedure had not been consistently followed, leaving some seat-mounted side air bags subject to reduced function,” Chrysler said in a statement.
The company added that installation procedures have since been updated and that nearly half of the Mopar ’13 affected by the recall are still in dealer hands. The recall will begin in December, but concerned customers can contact Chrysler at 1-800-853-1403.
As a reminder, the Dodge Dart Mopar ’13 is offered in a gloss-black with Mopar Blue stripes exterior, an aerodynamic kit, gloss-black 18-inch wheels and Mopar badging. The interior features black leather seats with black accents, while power is provided by a 1.4-liter MultiAir turbo engine.
