Chrysler Debuts “Thank You America” Digital Ad

So, Chrysler received money from the United States government to help it stay in business, preserve jobs and revamp sales. How else could Chrysler spend the money if not by creating a special “Thank You America” digital advert that thank Americans for their support? For those of you who haven't read the December 22 Wall Street Journal or USA Today, it's worth knowing that Chrysler, member of the Detroit 3 and one of the two companies that received financial support from the government, rolled out a one-page print ad in these two newspapers in order to thank residents for help.

“On behalf of the 1 million people who depend on Chrysler LLC, Chairman Bob Nardelli says ‘Thank You America” for investing in the Company with a loan of $4 billion to help bridge the current financial crisis. The print ad breaks Dec. 22, a few days after Chrysler LLC received news that the U.S. Treasury will provide initial funding to the Company from the Troubled Assets Relief Program (TARP) as a loan,” Chrysler said in a statement released to the press.

According to Gawker, the American carmaker spent approximately $100,000 of the whole loan in order to display the advert on USA Today and, in addition, the ad is said to run on websites starting December 23, which raises the overall costs of the campaign.

Here's the complete text of the digital advertisement published in Wall Street Journal and USA Today on December 22:

Thank you for investing in Chrysler - America's Car Company.

* Providing cars and trucks you want to buy, enjoy driving, and will want to buy again.
* Delivering products with the best quality and value in our Company's history.
