Fiat group decided long ago that it would bolster Lancia’s model lineup with some Chrysler models, more specifically some rebadged versions of the 200 Convertible and the 300 sedan. But in a strange marketing twist to the story, the proud and independent British have chosen not to do this. Instead, not only is the 300 sold under its own brand there, but the Lancia models like the Delta have been rebranded with Chrysler badges.
The flagship sedan built in North America has finally made its way to UK shores, and pricing plus powertrain options have been announced.
Right now, only one model is available, and it comes with a 3.0-liter V6 diesel producing 236bhp and 540Nm (398 lb-ft) of torque, which is supposed to get 39.8 mpg on the combined UK cycle (7.1 l/100km).
The pricing list starts at the 300C Limited costing at £35,995 OTR ($58,507). This is basically aimed at 3-Series customers, so what are the toys they should be impressed with?
Standard features include heated front and rear seats, load leveling suspension and height control, LED daytime running lamps, electronic stability control (ESC), hill start assist, active head restraints, plus curtain, side, front and rear airbags. So it’s pretty well kitted out.
The more expensive choice is the 300C Executive costing £39,995. The extras include adaptive cruise control, blind spot detection, forward collision warning, keyless entry, powered rear sunshade, and heated and ventilated Nappa leather seats to the car's standard features.
