Despite Ford's decision to stop making cars in Australia, the competition is getting heated in the Land Down Under. After Holder dropped the HSV bomb, Chrysler has decided to strip the luxury from the 300 SRT in the hope of attracting more customers.
The resulting car is called the 300 SRT Core and does away with lots of goodies, like adaptive damping, blind spot detection, heated and ventilated seats, cruise control and navigation. It even has cloth upholstery instead of nappa and all-season tires.

The result of this class-shaving is a price that AUD10,000 lower than before. At AUD56,000, the SRT8 Core is actually a very attractive import, especially when you consider it still has the 6.4-liter HEMI V8 under the bonnet. This gives you access to 470 hp and 631 Nm of torque.

Mihnea's favorite cars have already been built, the so-called modern classics from the '80s and '90s. He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
